Performances, activities on tap for Cowboy Festival

The 20th annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival runs Saturday and Sunday at the Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio.

Those who get their boots on the ground for the 20th annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival at the Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio today will be treated to a variety of event and activities.

A series of musical performances will run throughout the day from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children’s activities such as arts and crafts and live readings will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Patrons will also be able to visit some of the attractions of Melody Ranch itself, including the Motion Picture Museum, which details some of the history of filming at the ranch.

Those wishing to visit the festival can park for free and take a shuttle from the intersection of 13th Street and Railroad Avenue in Newhall. There is no public parking at Melody Ranch.

Adult admission to the festival is $20 for one day, $30 for both Saturday and Sunday. Admission for children ages 4 to 12 is $10 for one day and $15 for two days. There is no admission cost for children age 3 or younger.
