Judge Graciela Freixes continued former guidance counselor Roselyn Hubbell's misdemeanor trial until Feb. 24 during a pre-trial hearing Tuesday, a court official said.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Deputies arrested Hubbell in June 2008 as she attempted to check into a hotel with a Golden Valley High School student.

At the time of her arrest, Hubbell was a guidance counselor at Golden Valley High School.

Also at the time of Hubbell's arrest, the unnamed victim in the criminal prosecution was in possession of cocaine.

The mother of another Golden Valley high student not named in the criminal case brought a law suit against Hubbell and the William S. Hart Union School District on Dec. 12, 2008.

The suit alleges she maintained a nine-month sexual relationship with the boy and coerced him to smoke marijuana. The suit also alleges the school district was aware of the risk Hubbell posed to male children.
