Two men charged in the alleged beating and abduction of an Agua Dulce woman last fall and with the alleged attempted kidnapping of her adult son will be tried by a jury next month, an assistant district attorney said.

Clyde St Aubyn Richards, 46, of Los Angeles and Collin Agustus Foster, 47, of Los Angeles stand accused in the attack of a woman who lived in the 30000 block of Briggs Road in Agua Dulce.

Richards and Foster remain in custody at the Pitchess Detention Center — one in the South Facility, the other in the North Facility — with bail set at $2 million each.

They appeared Friday in Michael D. Antonovich Antelope Valley Courthouse in Lancaster.

“It’s set for a jury trial,” prosecutor Jon Hatami said Tuesday.

Jury selection for their trial is expected to begin next month, Hatami said.

The suspects allegedly beat a woman and then kidnapped her 23-year-old son while the mother was unconscious, according to sheriff’s officials.

After the woman recovered from her assailant’s attack, she could not get into contact with her son and then notified law enforcement, according to the report.

The two men allegedly abducted the son and fled south on Highway 14 in a Nissan Pathfinder at a high rate of speed, according to a spokesman for the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

“They tied her up, put her in the bathroom and kidnapped her son,” a Palmdale Sheriff’s Station deputy said.
The woman was treated at the scene of the crime, he said.

The two men were stopped by Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies at McBean Parkway near Interstate 5 and arrested. The son was found hiding in a nearby ravine.

Richards and Foster face four kidnapping charges, three counts of assault with a firearm, two false imprisonment charges, two counts of criminal threats, a second-degree robbery charge and possession of marijuana with the intent to sell.
