A Lancaster-to-Union Station Metrolink train resumed its journey today after it was stopped and searched in Burbank due to concerns about a bomb, a spokesoman said.

Train 286 on the Lancaster-to-downtown Los Angeles line was halted around 12:30 p.m. at the Burbank station because one passenger “overheard another make reference to a bomb,” Metrolink spokesman Jeff Lustgarten said.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies and Burbank police brought in canine units and searched the train but found nothing that could be a bomb, Lustgarten said.

Passengers were allowed back on the train and it continued its way toward Union Station around 2 p.m., Lustgarten said.

Metrolink’s Lancaster-to-Union Station commuter line stops at three Santa Clarita Valley stations.
