A Castaic infant was airlifted to a Los Angeles hospital Sunday afternoon after falling onto a tile floor, an emergency response spokeswoman said.

At 12:53 p.m., officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received a 911 emergency call for an 8-month-old child who fell from a couch onto a tile floor inside a house in Castaic, Fire Department Supervisor Melanie Flores said.

Paramedics brought the child to helicopter which landed at an arranged area at Castaic Lake, she said.

The child, whose injuries were not disclosed, was then flown to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles with one of the child's parents onboard.
