Hazardous weather outlook for southwestern California

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING THE ANTELOPE AND SANTA CLARITA VALLEYS

..DAY ONE... TODAY AND TONIGHTGUSTY SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE ANTELOPE VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH. ISOLATED GUSTS TO 60 MPH ACROSS THE ADJACENT FOOTHILLS.

THERE WILL BE A HIGH RISK OF RIPCURRENTS THROUGH THE WEEKEND AS WELL. A MARINE WEATHER SATEMENT HAS BEEN ISSUED TO HIGHLIGHT THE GALE FORCE NORTHWEST WINDS WITH WINDGUSTS TO 35 KNOTS FROM POINT PIEDRAS BLANCAS TO POINT ARGUELLO ANDOUT 60 MILES.*

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN... SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY GUSTY WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE ANTELOPE VALLEY THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. THERE WILL BE BLOWING SAND AND DUST WHICH WILL CAUSE VISIBILITY TO DROP TO NEAR ZERO AT TIMES WITH THISWIND EVENT.

GALE FORCE WINDS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE OUTER WATERS FROM POINT PIEDRAS BLANCAS TO POINT ARGUELLO THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT.

SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...WEATHER SPOTTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REPORT SIGNIFICANT WEATHERCONDITIONS ACCORDING TO STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES.
