Investigators look over the scene of a bus crash in Lake Elsinore on Friday. An 18-year-old man had to be cut from the wreckage and is hospitalized with major injuries.

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a teenage driver has been seriously hurt in a crash with a school bus in Lake Elsinore.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise says the bus was carrying three dozen students to Canyon Lake Middle School when the collision occurred at about 7:15 a.m. Friday. The car, a Honda, was partially wedged under the front of the bus.

California Highway Patrol Officer Nathan Baer says the students weren't hurt but the bus driver complained of not feeling well and was examined at a hospital.

The other driver, an 18-year-old man, had to be cut from the wreckage and is hospitalized with major injuries. His name hasn't been released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
