The Santa Clarita City Council voted this week to approve a $319,000 construction contract to replace the existing wooden pedestrian bridge over Goldcrest Drive in Valencia with a new, steel one.

The bridge is part of the city’s paseo system and is located near the intersection of Goldcrest and Del Monte drives.

The city has budgeted $319,000 for the project, along with a contingency fund of $47,850. The construction contract was awarded to Oxnard-based Toro Enterprises Inc.
