The tire of a dump truck caught fire on the northbound Highway 14 on-ramp at Newhall Avenue on Tuesday, prompting firefighters to respond and douse the blaze.

Driver Carlos Mosqueda stopped the truck, which was hauling dirt, after discovering the fire near a rear tire around 2 p.m.

Also in the truck was Adrian Rocha. The truck belongs to Rocha's Trucking.

No one was injured, and firefighters halted the flames' spread to adjoining brush.
