Victim spots her stolen car in front of her
A Saugus woman who was on her way home from the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station, where she reported her 1996 Acura stolen, was stopped at an intersection when she saw the vehicle in front of her.

According to Lt. Larry Gump, she immediately called the Sheriff's Station from her cell phone, providing updates to deputies as she followed the vehicle to the Best Buy in Valencia. Gump added that the suspect apparently ditched the vehicle there and fled on foot. He was caught 20 minutes later by deputies.

The suspect was identified by deputies as Jonathon Blankenship, 26, of Newhall.

When deputies searched the stolen vehicle, they found other stolen items, such as electronics and a woman's purse.

Deputies believed that Blankenship may have used the stolen vehicle to burglarize a residence.

Deputies catch man they think is pizza thief
In January, the Signal reported that an armed robber held up a Papa John's delivery man in Canyon Country.
The alleged robber, identified as 18-year-old Michael Zachery, was arrested this week.

Deputies from the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station arrested Zachery late Tuesday afternoon at his Canyon Country residence, and is held on $100,000 bail.

On Jan. 19, Zachery allegedly approached the delivery man and threatened him with a gun.

The suspect demanded money, however the delivery man gave him the four pizzas that he was delivering.
