The city of Santa Clarita’s “Art Slam” event Thursday will feature “green” art work in honor of Earth Arbor Day.

Hosted the first Thursday of every month, the Art Slam runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and brings together artwork based on a given theme. To fit into this month’s theme, artists will create works fashioned from repurposed or recycled materials, according to a news release.

The Art Slam is one of a collection of monthly events put on by the city known collectively as “Thursdays at Newhall.”

Other events in the series include Senses on Main, which this month will be held April 18 and have a Western theme, and the Newhall Farmers Market, which takes place every Thursday.

All events are held in downtown Newhall.
