A 68-year-old man ordered to stand trial for a hit-and-run collision in Valencia that left a 65-year-old woman dead faces a jury trial, a judge has ruled.

Jonathan Anker, of Newhall, appeared in San Fernando Superior Court Wednesday and was ordered to appear back in court next week for a jury trial, a court official told The Signal.

In May, Anker was ordered to stand trial for one count of failing to remain at the scene of an accident and one count of driving under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.

Dianda Doane was hit by a car and killed Feb. 3 as she was walking in traffic lanes on Orchard Village Road in Valencia, according to deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at the time of the incident.
