Proving again that it could be any team’s day in the Foothill League, the West Ranch Wildcats knocked off the Saugus Centurions 13-6 on Wednesday.

The win was West Ranch baseball’s third straight in the Foothill it and knocked Saugus out of a first-place tie with Canyon atop the Foothill League.

Eight batters in the West Ranch starting nine had at least two hits in the game, with Tony Slauson’s 3-for-3 day with two RBIs and Jagger Rusconi’s 3-for-5 effort with an RBI leading the way.

Brandon Silva went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, including a two-run single in West Ranch’s five-run seventh.

After a scoreless first three innings, West Ranch (8-3 overall, 3-2 Foothill League) got going in the top of the fourth with a two-run single by J.D. Krauskopf.

He later came around on a Silva single and West ranch was up 3-0.

Saugus (7-5, 3-2) got four in the fourth on West Ranch starter Cody Bennett, who has yet to find his form in Foothill play.

The big hit was a two-run single by Saugus’ Chris Devery.

But West Ranch came right back and added two in the fifth, three in the sixth and five in the seventh.

Nick Ruffino supplied a pinch-hit three-run home run in the seventh.

Bennett settled late, leaving after a six-inning effort in which he allowed six hits and two walks, while striking out six.

Dylan Freyre greeted his replacement Tony Slauson with a solo home run.

Saugus added a final run on a Joey Mendez single, but Slauson ended up getting out of the inning.
