Turn off your light for gun control

After a great many conversations and debates about gun control, there are still a great many members of Congress bowing to the NRA lobby because they want to protect their political futures more than they want to protect us against gun violence.

Here’s an idea that my change their thinking. If all of us who believe in the attack weapons ban, background checks, and clip limitations would turn off our house lights at night at the same time, a satellite view might be dramatic enough to make those congressmen realize that we have more power than the NRA.

For example, all gun-control supporters turn off our house lights for three minutes at 9 p.m. Central Time on April 30 and a satellite picture is taken, and then a picture is taken on May 1, the contrast would be dramatic.

It might give our congressmen the courage to stand with us. Of course, someone needs to organize the effort. Piers Morgan, Michael Moore, where are you?
