While driving in Santa Clarita I have noticed some techniques that appear to be unique to the culture here.

When the car in front of you stops for pedestrians in a cross walk, which side do you pass them on?

Answer: If the pedestrians are approaching from the left, you pass the stopped vehicle on the right. I and if the pedestrians are approaching from the right, you pass them on the left side while trying not to run over the pesky pedestrians.

When you are exiting a parking lot and the car in front of you stops for cross traffic, which side do you pass them on?

Answer: It is usually wise to jump into the oncoming lane, since passing them on the right side could damage your custom rims when you drop off the curb on the right side of the driveway apron.

If there is a car trying to enter the parking lot at that time, be sure to sound your horn so they can get out of your way.

After you complete your shopping and you have loaded your purchases into you vehicle. what do you do with the empty shopping cart?

Answer: First thing is to clean out the floor boards of your car of burger wrappers and coffee cups , dumping them into the cart. Then place the cart in the nearest handicap-designated parking space.
