Chivas USA plays Hoefflin benefit for children's cancer

Major League Soccer team takes on Ventura Fusion in exhibition face-off

Major League Soccer team Chivas USA and the Ventura Fusion of the Premier Development League play an exhibition game at College of the Canyons' Cougar Stadium Sunday, March 1.

Proceeds from the match will benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for children's cancer, which provides financial and emotional support to children facing childhood cancer and their families in the Santa Clarita Valley.

It's an encore appearance for Chivas USA, which played a Hoefflin benefit exhibition match at Cougar Stadium in February 2008.

Advance ticket prices: adults $15/youth (18 and younger) $10 if purchased before Feb. 25.

After Feb. 26, adult tickets will cost $20 and youth tickets will run $15 each.

Purchase advance tickets at three locations:
n The Michael Hoefflin Foundation, 26470 Ruether Avenue, Unit 101, Canyon Country 91351;

n Santa Clarita Soccer Center, 21613 Soledad Canyon Road, Santa Clarita (Saugus 91350);

n Planet Soccer, 24331 Main Street, Santa Clarita (Newhall 91321).

Advance tickets are also available for purchase online by visiting the Hoefflin Foundation's Web site or by calling the office at (661) 250-4100.

On game day, tickets will be available at the main Cougar Stadium ticket booth. Prices will be $20 per adult and $15 per youth.

The game will be played rain or shine.
