The Wildcats also clinched third place in the Foothill League, guaranteeing them a spot in the CIF-Southern Section postseason for the first time ever.
The Grizzlies were able to stay within striking distance for most of the game and trailed 35-27 late in the third. But a three-point play by West Ranch's Kaylyn Tarver and a pair of baskets by Erin Ruiz allowed the Wildcats (13-12, 6-4) to pull away.
"I don't think on offense we were attacking enough," said West Ranch head coach Randy Smith. "They kind of packed their zone in and we started to settle for outside shots."
Jasmine Jefferson scored 25 points to lead Golden Valley.
"I think we definitely stepped up and played a lot more how we're capable of playing," said Grizzlies head coach James Wilson. "The biggest problem is self-confidence. A lot of these girls are having trouble believing in themselves."
Eight different Wildcats scored, led by Ruiz's 17 points.
West Ranch seniors Chantal Khalilieh, Mikaela Manion, Alyssa Navarro, Christina Ortiz and Alex Ritz were honored before the game.
