This week we only had two reported Part-1 crimes in the Saugus area. The first was an assault which occurred from a local eating establishment at the 22900 block of Soledad Canyon Road on Saturday, 03/16/13. After an argument with some patrons of this location the victim was assaulted while walking to the taxi. Detectives are working on leads in this incident.

The second Part-1 reported crime was a theft which occurred from the 28800 block of Shadow Valley Lane between August of last year to Monday, 03/15/13. Once again there were batteries stolen from the “Time Warner” cable boxes along the roadside. If you see any suspicious activity near these cable boxes please report the incident as soon as possible by calling the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.

There were multiple arrests made over the past week in Saugus. One of the arrests occurred on Wednesday, 03/13/13, at 12:50 PM. A deputy conducted a stop of a vehicle for numerous traffic violations. Upon contacting the occupants of the vehicle he smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the interior. The deputy detained all five occupants of the vehicle. While searching the vehicle the deputy found heroin and marijuana. One of the occupants admitted to being the owner of the narcotics. She was arrested for possession of heroin.
