A 19-year-old Newhall man arrested for indecent exposure near a Santa Clarita Valley school entered a plea of no contest to the charge against him Wednesday and was immediately sentenced to 30 days in jail, an official said.

“He pleaded no contest today to one misdemeanor count of engaging in lewd conduct,” said District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison of Ricky Torres. “He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and (given) three years summary probation.”

Torres was arrested Tuesday afternoon after deputies received reports of a man exposing himself inside a car parked near Santa Clarita Elementary School, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Lt. Tom Bryski said.

He was arrested within 30 minutes of the reported incident and booked at the local sheriff’s station at 4:41 p.m. Tuesday, according to the booking log prepared by the Inmate Information Center of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
