Two men allegedly drinking, then fighting, ended up in the hospital with one of them charged with assault causing gross bodily injury, local sheriff’s deputies reported.

Both men were found bloody and cut, but one of the men suffered a ruptured left ear drum, according to a report filed by deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and logged in the station’s incident report.

On Thursday, shortly after 8 p.m., deputies received reports of an assault on Castaic Road, in Castaic, the report states.

Deputies interviewed both men and one witness.

The witness told them that “while he was driving to work he saw two men arguing.”

He said he saw one suspect enter the trailer of the other.

The man who later suffered the ear injury told the witness to call the police.

Both men were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, deputies noted in their report.

Both were treated and released that same day.

Charged is Dana Cameron Duffy, 57, who was identified by deputies as a transient.
