LOS ANGELES COUNTY – At the regular meeting of the San Fernando Valley Council of Governments, the Board of Directors unanimously adopted a motion by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich’s supporting a series of transportation projects that will serve as the foundation of a valley wide transportation matrix.

The projects include a rail connection to Bob Hope Airport, upgrading Metrolink and Los Angeles-San Diego rail corridors, completion of the High Occupancy Lane system across the San Fernando Valley, and connecting and coordinating transit systems.

In addition, the office of Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky introduced an amendment to Antonovich’s motion adopted to include the East Valley North-South Corridor connection to the future Sepulveda Pass project.

“The transportation needs of the San Fernando Valley have been overlooked for far too long,” said Antonovich. “This action unifies the elected leaders and the business community of the Valley to ensure the Valley’s future needs are met.”
