Regarding “Main Street in Newhall to receive facelift,” published Jan. 8; I have to laugh at this.

If city officials wanted to boost pedestrian traffic and business revenues in downtown Newhall, why did they reroute traffic away from the area and try to drive the existing businesses out by starving their sources of customers?

I always went to “Main Street” (San Fernando Road to me) before our dear city officials destroyed the neighborhood.

Hope y’all can fix it by the Fourth of July.
