A motorcyclist remains hospitalized and in serious condition Monday more than a week after the Canyon Country traffic collision in which he was injured, according to hospital and law enforcement sources.

Robert Torrez was transferred Friday to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles after spending six days recovering from his injuries at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, sources said.

Torrez was a patient Henry Mayo from March 3, the day of the crash, until Friday, said spokeswoman Katreena Salgado.

California Highway Patrol officers received a cellphone call March 3 reporting a collision between Torrez’s red Kawasaki KLR650 motorcycle and a car on Sand Canyon Road south of Highway 14 in front of In-n-Out Burger, Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Bernard Peters said.

Two women in a Kia, the second vehicle involved in the collision, were not hurt, authorities said.
