A 23-year-old Fontana man is in custody today, charged with impaired driving causing injury in connection with Sunday morning’s rollover collision that sent a woman to the hospital, court papers show.

Tyler Brown of Gables Crest Place in Fontana was arrested at 7:30 a.m. Sunday by officers of the California Highway Patrol and booked on a felony count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs causing injury.

Brown’s bail was set at $100,000 and he was scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court Tuesday.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m. Sunday, CHP officers and firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of a car on its roof and an SUV on its side in the right-hand lane of northbound Highway 14 near Golden Valley Road, Fire Department Supervisor Al Jackson said Sunday.

The driver of the SUV became trapped inside the vehicle after it flipped onto its side, CHP Officer B. Ibarra said Sunday. Firefighters using hydraulic sheers freed the driver.

Brown was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

A 19-year-old woman identified as the driver of the Ford Mustang was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
