IRS/AARP-trained volunteer tax return preparers will be available to complete and file income taxes for seniors at the SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market Street, Newhall 91321.

Preparers will volunteer on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons through April 15.

Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling Elaine at the SCV Senior Center, 661-259-9444.

You are encouraged to make your appointment early as many seniors who waited until the middle of March last year were unable to get appointments.

You must bring a picture ID (driver's license), a copy of your Social Security card or something with your name and Social Security number (1099SSA), and if available, last year's tax return, as well as 2008 tax information with you to your appointment.

There is no charge for this service.
