A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon following a traffic collision in Canyon Country.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m. Sunday, officers with the California Highway Patrol received a cellphone call from someone reporting a collision between a motorcycle and a car on Sand Canyon Road at Highway 14, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Bernard Peters.

“The call came from a cellphone to the CHP,” he said.

At 1:29 p.m., Fire Department paramedics were dispatched to the crash site in front of In-n-Out Burger on the south side of Highway 14, he said.

A red Kawasaki KLR650 motorcycle and a four-door burgundy Kia collided in front of the restaurant.

A man, identified by a deputy of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station as the motorcyclist, was taken by paramedics with undisclosed injuries to the hospital at 2:10 p.m.

The bike sustained damage to the driver’s right side.

The car had damage to its driver’s door and the passenger door on the driver’s side.

Two women, identified by the same deputy as the car’s occupants, were not hurt in the crash, he said.
