Deputies arrested two Newhall men after neighbors complained the pair were allegedly firing shots on Arch Street. The men will be arraigned Friday.

Deputies arrested Abel Medrano, 25, and Filimon Ramirez, 21, Saturday night after neighbors reported gunshots fired in the 24200 block of Arch Street in Newhall, said Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station. Deputies don't know how many shots were fired. No one was injured, she said.

Neighbors tipped off deputies to the exact location of the alleged shooters, Cambra said. Deputies entered the apartment and found methamphetamine, a stolen gun, marijuana and what deputies believe is cocaine, she said. The powder will be tested, Cambra said.

Deputies arrested Medrano for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon. Medrano posted $35,000 bond and was released, Cambra said.

Ramirez was arrested for receiving stolen property. Ramirez posted $20,000 bond and was released, Cambra said.
