AngelDogs Foundation (www.angeldogsfoundation.org) will host, “Rock, Walk & Wag;” (www.rockwalkwag.org) a community event to raise public awareness and funds for spay/neuter.  The event will take place at Central Park in Saugus, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

The event will feature live music, pet adoptions, Los Angeles food truck favorites, a variety of vendors and free, fun, family-oriented activities.

It begins with a dog walk to raise funds for spay/neuter, along Central Park’s Perimeter Trail, followed by the festival at 10 a.m.

The “Pet Fest” will feature $45 pet adoptions (including microchip, vaccination and sterilization) sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control.

Local rescues will also showcase their adoptable pets.

Guests will have the opportunity to interact with pet-related vendors, take part in the silent auction, prize drawings, and enjoy delicious food from popular food trucks. Performances from local bands will take place throughout the day. Friendly, well-socialized dogs are welcome to join their owners on the walk and/or at the festival.

“Our goal is to provide the community with a free, festive, springtime event, suitable for the whole family,” said Lisa Tipton, director of AngelDogs Foundation. “We’re also aiming to adopt out every shelter pet that comes to Rock, Walk & Wag and provide education on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating, and micro-chipping family pets.”

Volunteers, walkers and waggers are currently being recruited.

“Whether you walk, wag or volunteer, this is a fun, fantastic way for animal lovers to help homeless and less fortunate pets in the community,” Tipton said.

AngelDogs Foundation operates a non-profit mobile spay/neuter clinic that services Los Angeles and Kern Counties, and founded the first all-breed deaf dog rescue ranch (www.angeldogsfoundationdeafdogranch.org) in the country, located in Acton.  For more information on Rock, Walk & Wag, visit www.rockwalkwag.org.
