Coroner’s investigators released the name Friday of a 6-year-old girl who died after being found not breathing in a Canyon Country home this week.

Lt. Larry Dietz with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department identified the girl as Melissa Tuazon. A cause of death had yet to be determined, he said.

The girl was discovered not breathing around 6:20 a.m. Thursday in a home on Camelot Court in Canyon Country.

Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Quvondo Johnson said paramedics were called to the scene on a report of a cardiac arrest.

The child was transported to the hospital, where she was declared dead.

Dietz said the case remains under investigation.
