Mardi Rivetti, executive director of Rescues on the Runway, said the nonprofit holds fashion runway shows and beauty pageants, to showcase the dogs and cats needing homes by sending them down the runway with models and pageant contestants.

“We at KIA of Valencia are very proud to be spearheading this community event and to be able to donate our time and money to such a worthwhile cause – saving dogs and cats from LA kill shelters,” said Joe Caracciolo, general manager of KIA of Valencia.

Rivetti said she was thrilled for the support from KIA.

“I’m so excited and grateful for their support,” she said. “Our vet bills are at $6,000 so this donation will really help us.”

Rescues on the Runway hosts an annual fundraising dinner to benefit efforts to save as many dogs and cats as possible,” said Rivetti. “We need money for food, vet care and spay and neuter services. We are always looking for more help and more sponsors,” she said.
