Motor home burns, man found dead

A motor home burned in a Canyon Country parking lot and one man was killed Saturday.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., firefighters from stations 107 and 132 responded to a fire at VFW Post 6110 on Sierra Highway south of Sand Canyon Road, Supervising Fire Dispatcher Betty Parker said.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau were investigating the death of a white man in his 60s found in the wreckage, sheriff’s Sgt. Allan Jensen said. The man’s name was not released pending notification of next of kin.

No further information was available Saturday night.
