Commuters returning to work Tuesday after the long weekend and contemplating a short cut through the Angeles National Forest — you may want to think twice.
Roads through the forest may be closed due to snow.
On Sunday, officials with the Los Angeles County Public Works Department issued an advisory that, based on the forecast of snow and icy road conditions, the department will close public access to some road segments in the Angeles National Forest Tuesday, beginning at 3 a.m.
Road segments closed, include:
- Angeles Forest Highway from Aliso Canyon Road to Angeles Crest Highway
- Big Tujunga Canyon Road from Angeles Forest Highway to Vogel Flats
- Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road from Angeles Forest Highway to Angles Crest Highway
Local access will not be permitted until the road closures are lifted, according to the department’s advisory.
The closures will remain in effect until the storm system has passed and the roads have been inspected, they said.
