SCV minor critical after bicycle collides with SUV

15-year-old on bicycle collides with SUV; not wearing helmet

Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies responded to a collision between a 15-year-old bicyclist and an SUV about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The incident occurred at Fairview Place and Waterford Drive in Santa Clarita.

The 15-year-old was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, according to a news release issued by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

As of press time, the minor remained at the hospital in critical condition, according to Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
