The Santa Clarita Public Library invites community members of all ages to go on a picturesque journey through time with local authors Dr. Alan Pollack, Kim Stephens and E.J. Stephens as they review their book Legendary Locals of the Santa Clarita Valley. The free author event will be hosted from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Canyon Country Library and Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Valencia Library.

The Legendary Locals of the Santa Clarita Valley book review will discuss the history of the area while telling tales of colorful characters found throughout the region’s past.  Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

“The Santa Clarita Public Library is committed to promoting literacy and engaging residents through fun activities and innovative programs,” said Mayor Bob Kellar. “This author event is a fun, interactive way for community members to learn more about the Santa Clarita Valley and the rich history behind our growing City.”

Sponsored by the Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library, the author events are part of series of programs designed to build excitement and interest in books and reading through workshops and discussions with published writers.

The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library are an active group of Santa Clarita residents who volunteer, advocate and fundraise to meet the needs of the Santa Clarita Public Library. Membership is open to the community. For more information about how to join, please contact friends@santaclaritalibrary.com or visit www.santaclaritalibrary.com.
