At least one person was injured after being ejected from a vehicle in a crash on Highway 138 north of the Santa Clarita Valley on Sunday afternoon, fire officials said.
About 2:40 p.m. Sunday, paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle roll-over crash about one mile east of Old Ridge Route Road on Highway 138, said Supervisor Melanie Flores.
“When they got there, they requested a helicopter,” she said, confirming reports that at least one injured person had been ejected from the vehicle.
Paramedics on board the rescue helicopter were expected to airlift the injured person to a nearby hospital.
Some California Highway Patrol reports indicated two people were ejected from the vehicle with what appeared to minor injuries, including cuts and possible concussions.
A CHP spokeswoman, however, could confirm only one person injured with a suspected broken arm.
CHP officers stopped traffic in both directions on Highway 138 so the helicopter could land safely.
