Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, has joined the call for an investigation into how the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, also known as Cal Fire, spent more than $3 million in tax dollars.
Wilk, along with 24 other legislators, signed a letter demanding an audit of the fire agency in light of the revelation that, beginning in 2005, approximately $3.6 million was transferred from Cal Fire to an outside agency.
The money was then spent on activities outside of firefighting costs, Wilk alleges.
