Heather Warrick, an advocate for cancer causes who died Friday after a nearly two-decade-long fight with cancer, will be remembered with a memorial on Sunday.

The celebration of life is scheduled Feb. 10 2-4 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Valencia.

Warrick was 43 when she died of metastatic breast cancer.

“She touched countless lives with her infectious message of hope, belief in the mindset of ‘I can’ rather than ‘I can’t,’ and a radiant smile that re-routed other people’s despair into inspiration,” said Diana Sevanian, a friend of the family.

Sometimes called the “face of cancer survivorship” in the Santa Clarita Valley, Warrick was American Cancer Society Santa Clarita Unit Health Programs Manager before retiring in 2011.

“When you look at what she went through, how she devoted her time to helping other people, I tell you this is such a tremendous loss for our community,” Mayor Bob Kellar said of her death.
