Rosedell Elementary School in the Saugus School District recently sent 35 students representing eight teams to the Junior First Lego League event held at Legoland California in Carlsbad.
The science, technology, math and science (STEM) Expo required that teams research objects that have changed over the lifetime of a senior citizen and then represent that progression in a model made entirely of Legos.
The teams also made posters showing their research.
Junior First Lego League started out as a pilot program in 2004 to encourage children to have interest in science and engineering.
The program is designed to be a non-competitive and community-based program
