Buck and the economy

Letter to Buck Mckeon: I’m stunned that you believe that tax relief will get Americans back to work.

Cutting my taxes by $3,200 does not put $3,200 in my wallet. It does not give me a job. It does not fix our crumbling infrastructure.

I’m embarrassed that you went with the Republicans instead of working with the Democrats and fixing our problem. I’m sad, really sad to see that it will be politics as usual and not bold solutions.

You had an opportunity to set yourself apart from the Republican status quo and really represent our community, and you failed us. Then you sent out an e-mail with Republican rhetoric.

Buck, you have a job and you are not doing it. And yet you get to keep your job — you won’t get a pink slip or be laid off ... until our next election.

You have been someone I thought was a different Republican — you listened to environmental groups and businesses and you helped pass bipartisan legislation to protect our environment.

But I guess those days are in the past. You decided to go with the flow and not be bold. Too bad.
