Armed robber sought in holdup at Sam's Club

Local sheriff’s deputies are looking for an armed man who robbed the Sam’s Club early this morning, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, a lone gunman entered the store on Carl Boyer Drive and “herded all the employees” to the back of the store, said Sgt. Rich Nagler of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt, he said.

“A male adult walked into the store with a handgun and started herding all the employees to the back of the store,” he said.

“He saw one employee leave and he must have gotten nervous because he left prior to our arrival.”

The only description deputies have to go on is that the gunman was a Hispanic man, Nagler said.

It’s not know if anything was taken in the robbery.

Deputies are treating the incident as a “robbery, take over,” Nagler said.
