A woman is dead following traffic collision on Interstate 5 near Templin Highway early Sunday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Shortly after 4 a.m., a Honda Pilot travelling northbound on the interstate slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer stopped on the right shoulder, said CHP Officer Michael Gubelli.

“The passenger in the Honda was the fatality,” he said. “The passenger was a female.”
