A man suffered minor injuries to his hand and head in one of two Santa Clarita Valley traffic collisions Wednesday that saw cars flip over, officers with the California Highway Patrol said.

Shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday, emergency crews were dispatched to a crash on northbound Highway 14 near Agua Dulce Canyon Road after receiving reports of an overturned vehicle, said CHP Sgt. John Lutz.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department took the motorist to a hospital.

“He had abrasions to his left hand and to the left side of his head,” a CHP officer said late Wednesday afternoon.

The injured man’s silver-blue car flipped, coming to rest on its roof, said CHP Officer Ed Jacobs. The car blocked two freeway lanes, and a Sigalert remained in effect for about two hours.

About 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, CHP officers responded to a second call of an overturned car.

A dark-colored Toyota traveled across all lanes and hit the center driver on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Interstate 405. CHP officers confirmed.

The Toyota rolled over, but there were no report of injuries.

CHP officers were following up on reports a gray BMW may have played a part in the crash.
