Amy Knoles demonstrates electronic music produced with a percussion controller for students at Arroyo Seco Junior High School in Saugus on Monday. Knoles, an instructor at the California Institute of the Arts, brought her presentation of electronic percussion music, “Music from Almost Tomorrow,” to students, sampling sounds ranging from nature and voices to create unique-sounding tunes. The assembly was part of a day of enrichment for Arroyo Seco students.
Seventh-grader Meghan Hicks, 12, completes a career assessment in a computer lab at Arroyo Seco Junior High School in Saugus on Monday. After answering a series of questions about their interests and skills and receiving a possible career choice, students discussed how they would handle a hypothetical situation or dilemma in that field.
