Showers and chilly conditions will continue in the Santa Clarita Valley through the weekend and into Monday as another low-pressure system moves into the area.

Snow levels will drop as the new cold front moves in from the north on Sunday and Monday. Snow levels are expected to lower to about 4,000 feet by late Sunday night, and gusty winds are forecast.

Because the new cold front is drier than the one that hit late this week, rainfall totals are likely to be less, forecasters with the National Weather Service said.

Rainfall totals reached about a half inch in the Santa Clarita Valley on Thursday but just .08 of an inch today, the National Weather Service reported.

The chance of showers will be 40 percent Saturday night through Sunday, with highs dropping to the 50s on Sunday and Monday.

The rest of the week is expected to be sunny with highs climbing from the low 60s to the high 60s and lows in the 40s.
