A Newhall resident faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of Franco Olea, who was stabbed to death on Dec. 2.
A series of witness interviews led detectives to suspect 21-year-old Cesar Navarro, who was arrested at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Detective Barron with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
Navarro will be arraigned later today on a charge of first-degree murder, Barron confirmed.
Officials told The Signal earlier this month that they had an idea of who the killer might be after showing a sketch of the suspect to a few people.
Olea, 28, was stabbed at his Newhall home during an apparent struggle with a burglar on Dec. 2, according to sheriff’s officials.
Olea was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
