‘Lunafest’

“Lunafest,” the fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and bringing women together in their communities, will be hosted by Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley at Canyon Theatre Guild in downtown Newhall on Thursday, April 25.   

This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through nine short films by women filmmakers.

The films range from animation to fictional drama, and cover topics such as women’s health, motherhood, body image, aging, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.

All proceeds from “Lunafest” will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and the Zonta Club of SCV’s local and global programs to improve the lives of women.

LUNAFEST has raised more than $556,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund and more than $1,000,000 for other women’s non-profit organizations.

General admission tickets are $25 (includes admission to screening, pre-screening lobby social gathering, popcorn, soft drink or water and candy. Premium admission tickets are$50 (includes admission to film screening, pre-screening reception on patio with hors d’oeuvres, post screening reception with wine and dessert and admission to post film discussion facilitated by industry professionals.
