Hey Santa Clarita! I’m Ken Adams, the newest member of the Signal’s Multimedia sales team.  Although I am new to the Signal, I am not new to this area. I have worked in the Santa Clarita Valley for the past 18 years. My wife Andria is an elementary school teacher, and we have two children Makena and Levi who attend local schools. My wife and I love this community so much, and think it’s a wonderful place to raise our family. Santa Clarita has the best of all worlds; including a small town feel with all of the modern conveniences of an urban area. We enjoy and appreciate the great restaurants, shopping, and entertainment venues in the SCV. In addition, to being just a short drive to the mountains, the ocean, or the central valley. I am looking forward to working with you to help meet your advertising needs and help your business thrive!

Somehow I was under the impression that after the holidays were over, I would be relaxed and less stressed – boy was I wrong! It seems that somehow the clock is doing double time and here we are already heading towards the end of January. Now I am making it a point to return to regular MELT classes, taught by Shane Gilpin. These incredible classes, which sadly I neglected attending over the last month are at 5:00pm on Tuesday’s at The Fitness Compound in Canyon Country. This unique class teaches you an easy self-treatment method, using rollers, balls and pressure points in your body. After taking her class my body felt free of the tension I usually carry around. I am always able to breathe easier and sleep better after just one class. I have learned my lesson; taking care of myself is just as important as taking care of everyone else. I won’t be missing any more classes. Make sure you don’t forget to give yourself what you deserve by reducing stress and pain; give MELT SCV a call today: 661-212-3777.

I have a question… When was the last time you made a birthday cake? How about baked goods as gifts? I have no doubt that yours tasted great and most likely looked amazing. Me? Not so much! If I am going to do it, I want it to look like something out of a magazine or at least a post on Facebook. Clarice’s Cake and Candy Supply, in Newhall to the rescue! Cape and all, Nancy Olmos is the woman for the job, “bringing it” with every supply you haven’t even thought of yet to create baking and candy masterpieces. She’ll even teach you how to do it. With crazy affordable classes and the perfect class sizes for just the right amount of attention, there is no way to fail at bringing about your inner baking genius and taking it to the next level… Or at the very least, polishing the one you are already rockin’. Check out Clarice’s Cake and Candy Supply on at 22936 Lyons Avenue in Newhall. You can see some of that genius I’m talking about on their Facebook page!

I don't know if it’s the nostalgia of my childhood growing up on the Boardwalk at the Jersey Shore or just the intense love of some good old fashioned Italian Ice.

I am over the moon excited to announce that Santa Clarita will be the new home of Rita's Italian Ice.  The first location will be located on Bouquet Canyon! I spoke with the owners and they intend on opening a total of 5 locations in Santa Clarita Valley within the next 2 years.

It’s well documented that the heritage of modern day Water Ice dates back to Ancient Rome and Greece. It is said that the Romans would often infuse handfuls of Mount Etna's snow with wines and syrups as a special delicacy. In fact, Sicily is often cited as the birthplace of modern water ice as far as the Western world is concerned. The flavors most common to the western part of Sicily are still among those that are popular today:  lemon and coffee.

For those of you, who unfortunately never had the pleasure of experiencing "a good Italian Ice", allow me to educate you. Italian ice is not shaved ice that is flavored. It is made by the same process by which ice cream is made: freezing the ingredients while mixing them. Italian ice differs from sherbert in that it does not contain dairy or egg ingredients, though it may contain egg white.

Rita's offers over 40 flavors of Italian Ice, Cream Ice (OMG), and Gelati. The menu is endless.

I will keep you posted regarding the Grand Opening.  See you all there! Boun Appetito.

‘A child's laughter, music, leaves crunching underfoot, cars going by, birds singing, paper rustling, people chattering; the sounds of life are endless. We have only 5 senses with which to experience the world around us: touch, smell, taste, sight, and hearing. If one of these senses is debilitated, then how would it affect your experience?’

When you look at Audiology Associates new website, www.AudiologyAssociates.net, it begins with meaningful words in life we tend to take for granted. These words are what they stand by. Audiology Associates has over 40 years’ experience helping so many people- children, parents, and grandparents with their hearing healthcare needs. With many accolades to their name, Patrice Rifkind and her staff are professionals with an upstanding reputation in our Valley.

Each month Audiology Associates features a Healthy Hearing Event. Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th, they are having a Starkey Trade-in event to upgrade your old hearing aids into a new premium pair with many incentives to take advantage of.

Audiology Associates is located at 23838 Valencia Blvd., Suite 100 Valencia, CA 91355 and can be reached at 661-284-1900.

Remember, Better Hearing Begins Today!
