When are parents going to take responsibility?

I am tired of reading and hearing it’s the guns, it’s the music, it’s the video games, it’s schools.

When are parents going to take responsibility? It all starts at home.

Babies are born with a clean slate. They don’t know right from wrong. Parents teach them that.

Being a parent is by far the hardest job on the planet. It comes easier for some then others.

But every so often, once a kid turns 10 years old or enters junior high school, the parents start saying, "It’s my turn," "It’s ‘me’ time," "He can fend for himself."

You don’t retire from being a parent — ever. The most important years for any person is from 0 to 25. You can’t get your childhood back or redo it. It’s so important to guide these kids.

I run into a lot of adults who take medication because they are depressed or can’t handle it. That is being taught to your kids.

I get it, there are mentally ill people, a lot more then any of us realize.

But parents, some ignore the problem or some just can’t do it anymore, and that’s when society needs to step in and help out.

But first, be a parent; be your child’s best advocate. The best things you could ever tell a child is "no" and "I love you."
