Head on collision kills three

REDLANDS, Calif. (AP) — A head-on collision on a Southern California road has killed three people and seriously injured six others.

Redlands city spokesman Carl Baker says a minivan carrying eight people and a commercial van with only a driver aboard collided at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Orange Street.

Baker says two men and a woman from the minivan were pronounced dead at the scene in San Bernardino County.

Six men, including the driver of the commercial van, were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

There's no immediate word on the ages or identities of the victims or where the van was heading.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
