And the roll continues.

After entering Tuesday’s tilt with Golden Valley on an eight game winning streak, the Hart girls soccer team won its ninth game in a row, 3-0, over the Grizzlies at Hart High.

The Indians controlled the field for much of the contest, with Golden Valley playing a defensive-minded style.

Hart (9-2-5 overall, 3-0 Foothill League) pressured from the start, breaking through in the 24th minute on a header by Michaela Rickard off a corner kick from Hailey Jenkins.

In all, the Indians put nine shots on goal to the Grizzlies two, both of which came in the first half.

“We’re making good decisions and playing quick and moving the ball pretty well today,” said first-year Hart head coach Justin Lundin.

The Indians nearly got on the board early in the contest, with Jenny Chavez taking a through ball into the left corner and sending a cross into the box that was shot on goal by Presley Lambert.

Jordan Burrows, though, was there to make the save, one of six on the day.

The Grizzlies’ defensive approach proved affect for much of the first half, with Michaela James putting up a strong effort from her centerback position.

“Especially in the first half, they played defense almost to perfection,” said first-year Golden Valley head coach Adam Yassaman of his team. “The goal we conceded was on a set piece from the corner. The girl was marked, but she was bigger and got up to the ball.”

The second half was much of the same, with Hart continuing to win most of the free balls and winning possession in the midfield.

In the 55th minute, Ally Perez broke through to give Hart a 2-0 lead.

Hart added another in the 73rd minute off a goal from Danielle Spickard from 30 yards out that snuck inside the right post to set the final score.

Golden Valley (4-8-2, 0-3) had a few chances on runs by forward Courtney Ravenell and on a 50-yard free kick from Colleen Fleming early that was saved by Hart goalkeeper Daisy Hydar.
